steve martin
Hate to obsess on Steve Martin and Tommy Smothers. As an update, during a rewards show last year given to actors and what-not, one of dozens such ceremonies trying to promote their films and make more money, Tommy Smothers out of the blue gets all pissed off and says "Anyone who believes you can war your way to peace is ignorant." It was a live show, so he could say what he wanted to me without having to worry about censors saying he had violated their rules against mentioning me. No one much applauded. There was an awkward moment. I suppose for Smothers to say this, he was trying to get across something that he passionatley believes in. His kind hate me for my inability to avow all violence in the pursuit of justice and freedom. Or he hates me because of events I conjoured? Or he was just trying to give me a message.
This same show had steve martin and tina fey talking about me. They referred to me as the good king round a lay. I laughed as they basically said they had invented their own religion, but no one much cared about it. Martin also interjected, Books Kill Trees. Now, they told me that book was out, obviously. They may have been making fun of me, by telling a simple cosmology they made up which was similar to what I wrote. I can see how egotistical all this must sound to disbelievers. It is utterly absurd, as is the truth. That which makes sense to man is mostly myth. His world is so full of mystery that he can barely take the time to explore more than his physical reality.
At this same awards show, one guy said, as he left the stage waving a statue, "Trust tv. Fear the internet."
This pissed me off a lot. Of course, I could be wrong to be pissed... maybe they were just trying to get messages to me. Tommy Smothers was not ambigous, but martin and fey were. I shudder to think what has been done in my name to incite such hatred. I am a threat to their way of life. The internet is going to subsume and become this thing with all the tv channels on it. It is over for them. They know this, but they will fight tooth and nail to keep their systems in place. Martin is known for keeping politics out of his acts. He helped make the movement that left a lot of comedians catering to the crowds by being a-political -- effectively deactivating some of the most brave minds in the country. Martin shaw the smothers brothers lose a show because of the government, put his tail between his legs and played the good fool for the man. Odd that he only has one good movie, The Jerk. Smothers is irrelevant at this point. The hippies had their chance, and they chose to become yuppies in the 70's and 80's. Fuck them.
I read a great quote from Bill Cosby today. When asked how someone becomes successful, he answered,"I don't know how someone becomes successful, but I do know how they fail -- trying to please everybody."
I have this problem. I want to please people in both political parties, because a lot of issues are purely common sense matters that allow for no dissent.
